Date Night on Valentine’s day can sometimes feel a little cliche. Is your boyfriend one of those guys that thinks Valentine’s day was just created by card companies?! Mine is! Even though Valentine’s day may feel commercialized to him, it absolutely is a special holiday to me. Of course I can agree with him, but I also can not resist the pink and red hues everywhere I go, plus all the chocolate a girl could ever ask for.

Valentine’s day isn’t about the gifts, or the chocolate however. It simply is about celebrating your love to another person. This could be your significant other, a best friend, or even your mom/kids!When I was growing up my mom always made valentine’s special for us. My sisters and I would get one of those giant chocolate kisses and a card about how much our mom loves us! Still to this day I love getting those giant kisses. I know I know, but aren’t you suppose to love each other every day?

Well, yes. But this is different.

Valentine’s Day is a day of full out expression filled with love and happiness! Use Valentine’s day to start something new in your relationship. Is there something missing that you would like to start? Or maybe just something to work on. Create a goal as a couple, friends, or family. How could you begin to share your love for each other more throughout the year? Valentine’s day is a great way to start this new venture!

ENOUGH SAPPY, Back to the date night details!

On Monday I shared a more casual date night look, see it here. Tonight’s look is for that special dinner, or fancy event you are going to! I paired an elizabeth and james dress, with a structured blazer to keep me warm! The dress is just gorgeous, with its mesh cutouts, and embroidered breast detail. I wanted to go from something that felt romantic, yet simple. Black is always a good choice for just about any occasion, but you can make it more “Valentine’s” by completing the look with a red bag, or pink lipstick!
