Oh Cuba!

It was a wild ride visiting you. But one of my favorite memories from the trip was the night we spent sunset at the Malecon.

This is such a special memory because Andrew and I just had so much fun this night. We had no plans, no agenda and just had fun. We winged it, thats usually how we end up having our most fun times on vacation- when every second isn’t necessarily planned out.

The whole trip I had been asking Andrew to take me to the Malecon for sunset. Every night he would turn me down, or we would end up missing it by like an hour because of something else we had going on. It was such a bummer! Because before the trip I had only herd great things about visiting the Malecon. ESPECIALLY at sunset.

So the second to last day we were there we had zero plans. We just hopped around Old Havana, and explored a little. Took a ride down in one of the famous hot pink classic cars, stopped in this little cafe to grab a bite to eat, and ended up bar hopping.

We ended up very close to where the Malecon began and there is a strip of bars there. At each bar we decided to have one Crystal (a Famous local beer) and leave and go to the next joint. Well the third joint we were totally feeling it and got a GIANT tower of beer just the two of us. The waiter even looked at us funny because it serves about 10 beers, but we were planning on being there awhile, so why not?

After a few beers each it was starting to be come dusk. Since we were SOOO close to the Malecon I thought what a perfect time to catch the sunset. There was thousands of tourist lining the walls of the Malecon to watch the beautiful hues roll over them. It was special and a night I definitely will not forget.

Anj and I ventured along the wall to find a good spot, and it was just perfect. We did take a risk by taking some of these photos though. Legit people were standing on these exact rocks and getting completely bombarded by the waves crashing into the roadside. A little liquid courage and we hopped right out there.

Probably not our sharpest moment.

I may include a video clip of it into our Travel diary (COMES OUT THIS FRIDAY!!) If your not subscribed on youtube make sure you do because it will automatically let you know as soon as I upload! LINK RIGHT HERE FRIENDS…

But that was our night spent Sunset at the Malecon. It was a blast and if you are traveling to Cuba, I DEF recommend!
