Oxford Exchange Tampa, FL Review
Since brunching has become this huge thing to do on the weekends I have been super interested to see what some brunch spots around town are offering. My friends and I are always comparing where we can get the most bang for our buck. When my blogger babe kayla @shechiclifestyle asked me to go to a Taking Back Sunday concert in Tampa we could not turn down the opportunity to check out one of South West Florida’s hottest brunch & coffee spots; Oxford Exchange.
I recently went to Sketch, London and because of that experience my expectations for Oxford Exchange were higher than normal. In this post you will find my HONEST opinion on what you can expect if you are planning a trip to Oxford. And if i’m being frank I didn’t totally love it…Let me tell you why.
Before I tell you why Oxford Exchange didn’t quite live up to my standards let me tell you the few things that I did absolutely love about it.
The decor in here is really cool. It was an old library so it has this deep brown wood floors, leather and nail head accents. You can shop the latest books, trinkets, and home decor in the back. Warby Parker has a whole store front here. So instead of trying on your five pairs in your own home, you can legit pick up your pair of fresh eyewear right there in OE.
They have this super fun fresh coffee and tea bar. They have a million flavors and it seriously is just REAL good. My opinion would be to go there grab a cool coffee or tea, grab a good book, and chill in the bookstore area.
Pass on the Food:
Personally I was not a fan of the food. Beautiful presentation but the taste just wasn’t there. Here is what we ordered. Brussel Sprouts, baked avocado wedges, lemon poppy seed blueberry pancakes, egg flatbread. We wanted to try a little bit of everything and we ere pretttty disappointed with just about everything we tried. Lets just say it was prettier than it tasted.
Save some money:
Pass on the food and making a reservation ahead of time. Grab that coffee and you will still be able to experience the brunch scene. Although it also may be fun to grab some of those goodies in store, be sure to check online before making any purchases. Almost everything in there that I wanted to buy I could purchase on Amazon for half the price.
So all in all Oxford exchange is an okay experience. If you are in the area I would defiantly give it a try. But if your passing through and still want to just check it out, maybe just pop in to grab a tea to go and check out the book store. I know some people have private parties there so that could probably be a fun twist too!
